Planetary volcanology: progress, problems, and opportunities

Young on the scene, field of planetary volcanology has transitioned from a predominantly descriptive science to quantitative holistic view integrated generation, ascent, and eruption magma under very different sizes, densities, atmospheres, positions in Solar System. These multiple settings conditions, now augmented by thousands exoplanets, are providing new insights into nature history volcanic processes thermal evolution our own home planet, Earth.
